Plants are a little/lot high maintenance when it comes to being shipped in a a closed box. They’re alive, fragile, and tend to be a little dirty sometimes too. We’ve designed packaging to address all these factors, but there’s another factor that’s proven extremely difficult—cold weather.
Vendors like FedEx, UPS and USPS route packages through freezing cold areas, where they often sit in dark, cold and lonely places. When temperatures dip, plants get sick and cranky. Who could blame them? Their leaves blacken and they are prone to structural damage from cold temperatures. This is especially true for houseplants who are used to living in a toasty, climate controlled green house.
Luckily for all our plant friends, we have the latest Plantagonia gear to keep your plant safe and warm on its way to you. Before we box your plant, we do the following to keep it cozy:
If you live in or are shipping a plant to one of the following areas during the winter, your plant will arrive all bundled up with our USPS Lively Root cold weather packaging. Please choose a plant labeled "ships hardy" to ensure the best results. Plants without that tag will not be able to handle the trek unless you choose expedited or rush shipping in checkout.
